Ben Bateman - Chief Strategy & Partnerships Officer
Ben leads our Strategy and Partnership functions across Oha Honey. This includes leading the development and monitoring of Oha Honey’s organisational strategy, leading the development and implementation of partnership-focused strategic growth plans, leading our national team of Relationship Managers to secure manuka resource to meet our hive placement targets, as well as Oha Honey’s Health & Safety team.
Ben has a longstanding governance connection with Ngāi Tahu Holdings previously serving as a Director on the Ngāi Tahu Seafood Board, and as part of the Manawa Nui (Associate Governor) programme served on the Ngāi Tahu Seafood and Ngāi Tahu Property Boards. Ben is also a Trustee on the Wellington Zoo Trust Board, and a Committee Member on the Maori Soldiers Trust Board.
Prior to joining Oha Honey Ben was the Chief of Staff for the National Security Group at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Deputy Director of Legal Services for the New Zealand Defence Force as a commissioned officer in the New Zealand Army, serving in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
